And The Telly Goes To…
Sure, inspiring students to study STEM skills is certainly its own reward…but it’s always nice when there’s also a shiny statue involved. And that’s why the AMS Pictures Public Interest team was thrilled to learn that the “Importance of STEM Skills” video we produced for the Texas Education Agency’s Texas GEAR UP project recently won a Bronze Telly Award. Developed for the Own Your Own Future website, the short video is aimed at introducing middle-school students to the idea that learning STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) skills is an integral part of ensuring future success in virtually any career imaginable.
Shot on location at El Centro College in Dallas, Umlauf Sculpture Garden in Austin and at the AMS studios, the video was definitely a labor of love for the Public Interest team, who has been Texas GEAR UP’s creative partner for more than a decade. The project’s mission centers around increasing college and career readiness for underserved middle- and high-school students across the state—and this particular video just happens to focus on that very thing. (We do enjoy being on message!)
The Telly Awards honor excellence in a few categories: Film & Video, Online Video, Commercials and 3D. So we know we’re in good company. Now we just need to decide if we really want to thank the little people…
